Ability to hide members completely.

Post by iulian » Fri Jul 30, 2004 2:21 am

Please consider adding a feature that would read a custom attribute by name on a class/method/property. For example:

[DocumentationExclude(true)]
public string Whatever()
{
}

in which case the method Whatever would not appear in the index and would not have a html page generated.

It's important because many times there are multiple parts that you don't want or need to document. Even in the Microsoft's documentation sometimes members are hidden for various reasons.

I see it as an additional flexibility. I understand the idea of having a true assembly image, but that becomes a problem sometimes; with the flexibility to remove members completely it would be perfect.

Thank you,
Iulian

Thanks, I think it's a good idea. I've added to TeeGofer's feature request list.
Thank you!
